First and foremost I am a child of God. I’m a wife, mother of 6 and grandmother (Mema) to 12 who is now retired for ten years. Proverbs 31:10-31 presents a Devine challenge for me to be a diligent homemaker, valuable helper, nurturing mother, upright-God fearing women and my desire is to bring the same to our future generations.
In today’s world, our busy lives can bring compromises to healthy minds and bodies. Our children learn early how to use the IPad, phones and gaming systems. Going outside to play and climb a tree, ride a bike or play at the creek are not often enough. I remember running around the neighborhood for hours, to only come home for a quick snack, then back out again at a wonderful age of 6. It’s my prayer that all my grandchildren will have the same opportunity, although I understand not always possible!
Now as an adult, my life consists of a wonderful husband, who is the love of my life and spiritual leader of our home. Our children, now adults and with children of their own, watch and learn from what we model. Even our failures and weaknesses are front and center, but become life lesson for us and them. Teaching moments…our four year old granddaughter, Nora, ask me and her Papa to talk about the Bible while we drive so she can listen…how precious is that!
White Barn Family Farms has been created with my family as an outlet for me to pass on any knowledge, traditions, recipes and secrets I’ve learned through the years. I was hesitant at first, and after several considerations, ultimately God had the final say so…Yes, He said, do it! So here we are, welcome to our lives and White Barn Family Farms!!
