Our story starts over a decade ago with Mema. Having beaten an unexpected season with cancer mid-way through her life, she made the transition to healthy living & nutritional foods. Later, she furthered her healthy lifestyle & started inspecting what she was baking with. After she found out how processed flour and other common baking ingredients were, she bought herself a grain mill and flaker to start milling her own. She has been baking with it ever since!
It was spring of 2020 when Mema reached out to her daughter-in-law, Desiree to team up with her & start a home based bakery. With Desiree’s skillset in her previous baking business & Mema’s decade of baking experience, it was a perfect match. They took their passion for community & wholesome living and launched White Barn Family Farms!
The Lecturer (lovingly & respectfully named by her children). Donna is a wife to Duncan, mother to 6, and Mema to 12. She values her faith & family most of all. Her favorite pastimes include spending time with her family, watching Pride & Prejudice, gardening, & tending to the family farm chickens.
Visionary. Desiree is a wife to Johnny & mother to 2 little girls which are her joie de vivre (joy of life). She believes that most of life’s problems can be fixed with a friend & a piece of pie. Desiree enjoys spending her time experimenting with her chocolate chip cookies recipe, learning how to not kill her plants, reading, & spending time with her friends.
